(Bloomington-rb) Rule changes are coming your way from the IHSA. The Board of Directors added new language to Policy 8 that prohibits IHSA schools from hosting events that include Junior High teams as well as non-high school teams. The Board also voted to approve Huddle/GoFan as the official digital ticketing partner of IHSA State Series and State Championship events.




(Pesotum-rb) The Illinois State Police assisted by the Champaign Police Department, conducted an Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) Bar ID check During the late evening hours of Saturday, February 10, 2018. As part of the ACE detail 11 Citations were issued for Possession/Purchase of Alcohol and one citation for Unlawful Use of Identification. Four of the Citations took place at Kam’s Five at Joe’s Brewery, Two at  Red Lion and 1 at Clybourne. All of these bars are located on the Campus of The University of Illinois.

(Monticello-rb) The University of Illinois Extension in Piatt County presents hands on horticulture with Hart. On March 21st at Six O’clock pm for just Fifteen dollars you can. Get a jump-start on your garden this year by learning the basics of starting seeds. Horticulture Educator Candice Hart will cover how to choose seed varieties, tips on proper seeding and how to care for newly started transplants. Participants will also have the opportunity to start a flat of their own seeds to take home with them. The program fee includes all supplies needed. Feel free to bring your own seeds if you desire. (Rantoul-rb) The Rantoul press reports that Rantoul Township High School seniors who meet academic, behavior and attendance criteria will be eligible for a pilot off-campus lunch program this spring.Students would have to earn Cs or higher, have no discipline referrals and have no unexcused absences or tardiness. They would be allowed to go off campus during their assigned lunch hour on the two block days. Students would have to re-qualify for the program every two weeks.



The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Farmer City is having a Valentine’s Day/Ash Wednesday Fish Dinner Wednesday from 5-7pm. Cost is $8 for adults and Children 10 and under are free. Carry outs will be available.
