(Farmer City-rb) Farmer City Heritage Days Committee is excited to announce the headliners for this year’s festival. This year Heritage Days will feature Country Music recording artists Drake White with Darryl Worley co-heading the event. The Show will be Saturday May 26th in Downtown Farmer City. Music kicks off at 6pm, with Darryl Worley taking the stage at 7:30 followed by Drake White. The show is free to the public with a limited number of VIP tickets available. (Paxton—jc) Should another wind farm cross on grounds in Ford County? That was one issue for Ford County leaders on Monday. The issue is not a new one for local leaders as several companies now operate wind farms on county soil. The question for local leaders is should they continue a moratorium on wind farms. The consensus of Ford County leaders is that, for now, no new wind farms be built in Ford County.

(Decatur-rb) The University of Illinois Extension and Risk Management Agency is introducing Annie’s Project. As a part of Annie’s Project, women will receive training in the areas of balance sheet interpretation, cash flow and income statement fundamentals, commodities, lease evaluation and negotiations and much more. This women’s program, facilitated by agriculture professionals, will be offered over four sessions, March 6, 8, 13 and 15 from Six to Nine pm. The program is sponsored by University of Illinois Extension and RMA and will be hosted at the Macon County Extension Office located at Three Three Five One North President Howard Brown Blvd in Decatur, IL. (Champaign-rb) An American Eagle plane had to return to willard airport yesterday morning after smoke got into the cockpit. The plane which departed from Willard yesterday morning, landed without incident and was brought back to the terminal. 35 passengers onboard got off the plane at that time.The smoke in cockpit cleared up once it was vented. It appears that oil got on the auxillary power unit near the cargo area outside the cockpit.

(Urbana—jc) -- The trial date of a Champaign County man accused in the disappearance and death of a University of Illinois Student is now set. Neither side was granted what they requested in the murder trial of Brendt Christensen. He is accused in the death of Yingying Zhang. A judge on Monday set the trial for April of next year. The judge also denied a defense motion to move the trial out of Champaign County. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the case against Christensen.

Gardeners of all levels will find tips, tricks and ideas with a choice of 12 different classes along with two keynote speakers at Gardening Insights on Saturday, February 24, 2018. the event runs from 9am until 4pm in the Shilling Center on the campus of Richland Community College, One College Park, Decatur, IL. (Rantoul-rb) Lenten Suppers will begin next Wednesday February twenty first at American Lutheran Church in Rantoul. The suppers will be served from Five Thirty until Six Thirty each Wednesday thru March 21st. Each week will have a different food theme.
